GETTING STARTED

Do I need experience to start?
No experience is needed. Boxing With Love welcomes all levels. Everyone starts with Boxing Basics, which teaches the fundamentals and class flow so you can train with confidence.

What is Boxing Basics?
Boxing Basics is a 60-minute introductory class required for all new athletes. You’ll learn stance, footwork, punches, gym expectations, and how classes work.

Cost: $20
Included: Hand wraps
Who it’s for: Youth and Adult
When: Classes are typically held on Fridays @6:30pm. Please check the Boxing Basics page for the next class.

Do I have to become a member after the Boxing Basics Class?
No. Boxing Basics is designed to help you decide if the gym is the right fit. If you enjoy it, you can choose a membership option that works for you.

CLASSES AND TRAINING

What age groups do you offer classes for?
Youth Boxing: Ages 7-14

Adult Boxing: Ages 15+

What type of classes do you offer?
We offer:

  • Youth Boxing: Ages 7-14

  • Adult Boxing: All levels ages 15+

  • Women's Only: Ages 15+

  • Advanced Boxing: Must pass advanced test

  • Personal Training 

What happens if I am late for class?
To keep classes safe and structured, anyone more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed to join class. This policy helps ensure proper warm-ups, safety, and respect for the group and coaches.

ADVANCED TRAINING AND SPARRING

What is the Advanced Boxing class?

Advanced Boxing is for members who have developed strong fundamentals and are ready for higher-level skill work. These classes move at a faster pace and focus on more complex combinations, defense, and conditioning. To attend Advanced Boxing, members must pass the advanced test with certified coach.

Advanced classes are optional. Many members train exclusively in regular classes, and that is fully supported.

What is the advanced test?

The Advanced Test is a coach-led evaluation to ensure a member has the fundamentals, conditioning, control, and consistency needed for advanced-level training. (full test is posted in the gym on the bulletin board) Certified coaches will guide members on when they are ready to test.

Advanced test is $20 and must be schedule with a certified coach.

When will I be allowed to spar?

Sparring is optional and introduced intentionally. Typically, members do not spar until at least 3+ months after joining.

Before sparring, members must:

  • Receive certified coach approval

  • Demonstrate strong fundamentals and control

  • Attend classes consistently

  • Hold an active USA Boxing membership

Sparring is always supervised with safety as the top priority.

Is sparring required to be a member or to advance?

No. Sparring is never required to attend classes, advance in training, or be a member. Many members never spar and still make excellent progress.

COMPETITION TEAM

How do I compete or join the Competition Team?

Competition at Boxing With Love is optional and earned through readiness and consistency.

To be considered for the Competition Team, members must:

  • Attend classes regularly

  • Pass the Advanced Test with Coach Love

  • Demonstrate strong fundamentals, coachability, and commitment

Coaches will guide interested athletes through the next steps.

MEMBERSHIPS AND TRAINING OPTIONS

What membership options do you offer?

We offer both month-to-month memberships and auto-renew memberships, so you can choose the option that works best for you.​ All memberships include unlimited access to all classes and open gym when available.

Do you offer family discounts?

Yes. We offer a $10 discount per family member when multiple family members are enrolled.

Is there an enrollment fee?

Yes. There is a one time enrollment fee of $99 that includes a pair of boxing gloves.

What is included with the membership?

Memberships include:

  • Unlimited classes

  • Access to all regular classes

  • Use of Gymdesk for easy payments, scheduling and check-ins

  • Open gym when available 

  • Discounted private lessons for members

In addition to unlimited classes, memberships also include access to member-only events, challenges, community workouts, and special gym activities throughout the year.

These are designed to build connection, keep training fun, and help members stay consistent and motivated.

Are there contracts?

Month-to-month memberships do not require a long-term commitment.
Auto-renew memberships require a card on file and a 30-day cancellation notice.

Can I freeze my membership?

Auto-renew memberships include two freeze months per calendar year at $15/month.

Do you offer a punch card option?

Yes. We offer a 10-Class Punch Card for those who want a flexible, no-commitment option.

Punch cards are great for:

  • Busy schedules

  • Trying classes before committing

  • Supplemental training

Please note:

  • Punch cards are not unlimited

  • Punch cards do not include membership benefits (such as discounted private lessons or member-only access)

  • Punch cards are valid for regular classes only

Punch cards can be purchased directly through the website or at the gym. 

Do you offer an open gym membership?

No. Boxing With Love does not offer an open gym–only membership.

​

Open gym time is exclusively available to current Boxing With Love members and is intended to support members’ training alongside our coached classes.
